Early Garden originally started in 2006 as a blog. It was primarily my on-line garden journal, except instead of recording my daily activities, I wrote longer articles about my experiences in the garden. I have a pretty lousy memory, so this way I was able to record a problem, any observations, and a solution, and I could later search for something easily in case I forgot it. I was able to keep myself from making the same gardening mistakes over and over, and it turned out to be my own gardening help.

During this time I noticed the site becoming popular and people who were having the same issues I had were finding answers. In 2009 I decided it was time to start expanding the site offering gardening guides, more topically focused gardening help, and a gardening forum for everyone to ask questions. There is a lot more to this site now and I'm sure you'll find something of value.

One thing that I've focused on a lot in my 15 years as a cold climate gardener is how to start planting earlier so we can have fresh garden vegetables earlier. You'll find all kinds of information on cold climate gardening, plant protection, season extenders and early varieties all over the site.

This privacy policy briefly describes our position about personal information we collect about you, if any, and how it may be used, if at all. This policy may change at any time without prior notice and it is up to you to be up to date of any changes.

Information Collection

All web servers track basic information about each visit. None of this information can personally identify any specific visitors to this site. Email addresses are never shared with advertisers or anyone else.  We don't send spam email and we don't purchase, give or sell email addresses.  We use the very strict double opt-in policy which requires a person to sign up for our list on-line as well as respond to a confirmation email from their email address to verify they indeed have ultimate control of the requesting address. This is for our protection as well as yours.

Modifying Your Privacy

You can change your browser settings to disable cookies if you have privacy concerns. Disabling cookies for all sites is not recommended as it will interfere with your use of the majority of sites on the Internet and prevent you from logging in to your webmail, blogs or forums.
